Last week, Ocean Visuals took part in Oil Spill India 2026 in New Delhi, India, where our CEO Christian Testman presented during Technical Session III.

The eighth edition of the conference brought together industry stakeholders to discuss oil spill prevention, preparedness, response and restoration, alongside emerging technologies and approaches to maritime and environmental risk management.
Christian presented as part of Technical Session III, “Maritime Mastery Reimagined: Salvage, Shipping & Wreck Removal in a Climate-Vulnerable Era.” The session addressed the challenges of shipping casualties, salvage operations and wreck removal, and the importance of managing environmental risks in complex marine conditions.
Ocean Visuals develops OWL™ LiDAR sensor systems for real-time detection, identification and quantification of oil and other organic substances in water, including oil below the surface.
Reliable information about oil pollution is important for understanding spill conditions and informing response operations. Ocean Visuals’ technology supports the detection and monitoring of oil across marine environments, complementing the broader efforts to strengthen spill preparedness and response discussed at Oil Spill India.

“The operational use of this technology has the potential to improve the verification of suspicious oil features, the detection of oil in the water column, reducing the need for conventional laboratory analysis.”
